HIV/AIDS

For more than 25 years, Merck has been at the forefront of the global response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

Merck scientists were among the first to discover and develop medicines for HIV. Merck has introduced four ARVs: ATRIPLA® (efavirenz), CRIXIVAN® (indinavir sulfate), STOCRIN® (efavirenz), and ISENTRESS® (raltegravir) and has worked to expand access to these medicines, particularly for patients in countries that are poorest and hardest hit by the epidemic today. We continue our efforts to address the impact of the disease in resource-limited settings.
